Ted is a Certified Wildlife Biologist by The Wildlife Society in Washington, D.C. He holds both associate and bachelor degrees in animal science, a masters degree in biology, and is currently pursuing a PhD in ecological economics. He was employed by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources for 34 years where he worked as a volunteer, day laborer, wildlife technician, and wildlife biologist. He has also been licensed as a commercial pilot, P.O.S.T. certified peace officer in Georgia, and worked as a deputy special agent with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.

Throughout the 1980’s and early 1990’s, Ted supervised a tri-state recovery effort of golden eagles in the Southern Appalachian Mountains. This required extensive work in Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana collecting 132 golden eagles.
